Mine history brought back to life
One of Nottinghamshire's last remaining monuments to its coal mining history has been awarded nearly 1m to bring it back to life.

Bestwood Winding Engine House in Bestwood Country Park will receive a grant of 963,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

There will also be new education facilities and a park ranger's office.

Chris Baron from Nottinghamshire County Council, said: "The project will do a lot for local pride."
