'Landmark' substation flattened
A well-known landmark in Nottingham is being dismantled after 50 years.

The electricity substation on Queen's Drive and its equipment are being taken down as part of a £15m modernisation project by Central Networks.

Most of the electricity circuits have already been transferred to a smaller, more modern facility on the existing site off Electric Avenue.

The new substation is a third of the size of the current structure and sits in a specially designed building.
