Man denies murdering bus driver
A man accused of killing a bus driver the day before he was due to retire has denied murder.

Grandfather Derek Hartley, 63, was found with head injuries in his home in Newthorpe, Notts, on 4 November 2004 - he died a week later in hospital.

Matthew Castle, 31, a self-employed plasterer, appeared before Nottingham Crown Court on Friday. The case was adjourned until 3 October.

Mr Castle was remanded back into custody until the start of the trial.

The dead man, who lived with his wife Patricia, was discovered unconscious by his daughter shortly after midday.
