Murder accused family case halted
Rachel Hudson
Mrs Hudson's body was found close to Newstead Abbey
The jury in the Rachel Hudson murder trial has been discharged after a member of the jury became ill.

Eight members of the same family deny murdering the mother-of-two, whose body was found near Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire in March 2004.

The case will start again after a new jury is sworn in on Wednesday at Nottingham Crown Court.

The 20-year-old, born Rachel Manger, came from Leicestershire, but moved to Nottingham after her marriage.

Her husband Craig Hudson, 21, is one of several family members charged in connection with the death, along with her in-laws, Ronald Hudson, 49, and Trudy Hudson, 44.

Also accused are Ronald Hudson Jr, 23, Shane Hudson, 19, and Charlene Hudson, 18, along with Shane's girlfriend Elisabeth Hogg, 19, and Andrew Makings, 34.

The same defendants and a ninth unnamed co-accused are also charged with a second count of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
