A Nottinghamshire village is to take part in a unique experiment as part of a BBC documentary series.
The women of Harby will leave home for a week to see how the men cope on their own with domestic tasks such as washing and cooking.
There are about 300 people living in the village and an especially high proportion are families.
BBC3 looked at many places before settling on Harby, which producers say is a typical English village.
The programme will look at how the men cope with a range of domestic tasks as well as their reaction to a new way of life.
Producers will also be looking to see if they find new, different or better ways of doing things.
Solicitor Andrew Argyle, who lives in the village, said: "It's not just a matter of all the women going and the men living in their houses and trying to cook fish fingers.
"The idea is to see how the men pull together and help and support each other and will they do things differently to perhaps how the women would do if the men had left the village.
"It's already starting to pull the community together."
