Pedestrian trapped in tram crash
A 32-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries after he became trapped by a tram in Nottingham.

The man is said to have fallen in front of the tram as it was pulling into a stop on Radford Road. He was then stuck between the tram and a platform.

The man was released by emergency workers and taken to hospital.

An investigation has been launched into the accident on Friday by operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) which has CCTV footage of the incident.

Leg trapped

Clive Pennington from NET said: "The tram stopped very, very quickly as it was travelling slowly, but he has nevertheless had his left leg trapped.

"We had our people down there fairly quickly as it's very close to the depot.

"The emergency services were there very quickly and he was extricated, 20 minutes later so he's in the best possible hands.

"We are waiting to have our own crew returned to the depot and we can look after our own people too."
