Drivers are being warned to make sure their cars are in good condition in the colder weather.
Police have been carrying out checks in north Notts to ensure batteries are charged, lights are working and water and anti-freeze is topped up.
They also say car owners should check the condition of their tyres and their spare tyres to make sure the wheels can grip on icy roads.
Along with the DVLA, officers are on hand to give winter driving tips.
A list of essentials has also been drawn up, including carrying a blanket, boots, a tow rope, torch, jump leads and a shovel in the boot of the car.
