A youth who was driving a stolen car has admitted killing another teenager in a car crash after a police pursuit.

The 15-year-old boy from Nottingham, who cannot be named, has been remanded in custody for sentencing on 17 December.

He pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday to causing the death of Ricardo Mightly, 16, by driving dangerously on 21 August 2004.

The victim was a front-seat passenger in the car.

The car was being followed by police along Berridge Road and Alfreton Road, to the junction of Western Boulevard and Nuthall Road, where it hit a tree.

The youth also pleaded guilty to driving a stolen vehicle.

The court was told the teenager would face a custodial sentence.

An investigation into the death is being carried out by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
