The former boyfriend of a childminder who was stabbed to death as she looked after two children has been charged with murder.

Mandy Skedd, 30, was found dead at her home in Dowson Street, in St Ann's, Nottingham, on Tuesday afternoon.

Mark Odeyemi, 47, from the same address, appeared before magistrates on Saturday accused of her murder.

The toddler and baby that Ms Skedd was looking after when the attack took place were unharmed.

Another man who had been arrested in connection with the killing has been released without charge.

The family of Miss Skedd earlier this week described her as a "fun-loving person" and a "wonderful mother" who adored her six-year-old daughter.

There was no application for bail and he was remanded in custody to reappear before Nottingham Crown Court via videolink on Friday.
