Nottinghamshire police have named a man they are seeking in connection with the death of a young woman, who was found shot in the head in Huthwaite.

He is 55-year-old Terence Rodgers, who is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, stocky and with a shaved head.

He also has a tattoo of a flower on his right forearm and a dagger and the name "Christine" on his left arm.

Police said he may hold vital information about the incident and they are also concerned for his welfare.

His cherry-red Peugeot 106 was found on Saturday in Victoria Street, Hucknall.

Members of the public have been warned not to approach Mr Rodgers, but to contact police immediately.

The body of the woman, who has not yet been identified, was found at a house in New Street, Huthwaite, at about 1300 BST on Friday.

Inspector Barry Harper said: "It is a distressing incident and because of this there will be a high-profile police presence maintained in the area for the foreseeable future.

"Huthwaite is a close-knit community with a lot of local pride and I'm confident the public will do all they can to assist us with this investigation."

Forensic teams spent Saturday examining the scene.
