A woman has been attacked by a pit bull terrier in Nottingham - just days after leaving hospital for treatment for another medical condition.

Marie Jackson was left with serious injuries after being attacked only yards from her home in Strelley.

She had been walking with her 12-year-old son and their own dog, Scotty.

Another couple managed to free Ms Jackson after hearing her screams for help. Police are still looking for the pit bull and its owner.

Ms Jackson said: "It bit my legs, hands, and it bit right into my finger.

"And it's torn the back of my ear, at the top. I had it sort of glued back on again.

"So I suppose I am lucky in a way."
