Former boxing champion jailed
Nicky Booth
Booth admitted carrying out a burglary and two thefts
Former British bantamweight champion Nicky Booth has been jailed for two years for house burglary and theft.

The 24-year-old was sentenced two weeks ago after a warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to appear at Nottingham Crown Court.

He appeared before a judge on Wednesday when two further charges were left to lie on file and not proceeded with.

Booth, from Strelley, had earlier admitted carrying out a burglary and two thefts last November and December.

Booth won the British and Commonwealth titles in 2000 but lost his last fight - a World Boxing Union title challenge against Nathan Sting last September.

Booth's older brother Jason is the International Boxing Organisation super flyweight champion.
