Family make death clues appeal
Rachel Hudson

The family of a woman found dead at Newstead Abbey, Nottinghamshire, are appealing for her friends to come forward with information.

They are calling for help in building up a picture of the last few months of Rachel Hudson's life.

The 20-year-old married mother of two from Leicestershire had moved to the Overdale Road area of Stockhill, Nottingham, shortly before her death.

She was found beaten to death in parkland on 18 March.

Helpful calls

In a statement issued by police, her parents said : "Rachel's family were shocked and distressed to learn of her death and the nature in which she died.

"We are still trying to come to terms with what happened and cannot understand why anyone would want to harm Rachel.

"We have lost a beautiful, gentle, caring daughter who enjoyed life.

"With two young children Rachel had her whole life ahead of her with everything to live for."

They appealed for anyone who knew Rachel in either Leicestershire or Nottingham to come forward.

Police have had a number of calls from Rachel's friends and have said they need these people to contact them again.

Seven people questioned in connection with her death have been released on bail.
