Marathon death man named
Robin Hood Marathon in Nottingham
Thousands of runners competed in the race
Police have named the man who died during a marathon in Nottingham.

Craig Johanson, who was 28, collapsed on Adam's Hill about nine miles into the 26 mile race.

Mr Johanson came from Harby in Leicestershire and was one of more than 7,000 entrants in the annual event.

He slumped to the ground not far from the Queen's Medical Centre.

Condolences offered

A doctor and a midwife who were also taking part in the marathon stopped and tried to revive him before an ambulance took him to the Queen's Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead.

The marathon's organisers have offered their condolences to his family.

It is not the first time the Robin Hood marathon has been touched by tragedy.

Four years ago a Nottingham City Councillor, Don Scott, collapsed and died after completing the race.
