Man charged over farm death

A 62-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter following a fatal incident involving agricultural machinery two years ago, police announced on Monday.

Shaun Cooper, 27, of Skegness, Lincolnshire, died after becoming trapped in a skid steel loader at Windy Ridge Farm in Wysall, Nottinghamshire, in September 2001.

Peter Pell, from New York, near Boston in Lincolnshire, is expected to appear before magistrates in Nottingham later this week.

Nottinghamshire Police said charges were brought following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service and an investigation by police and the Health and Safety Executive.
