Daventry council shows thanks with compost

A Northamptonshire council is thanking residents for being green by giving away 10 tonnes of compost.

Daventry District Council will be offering householders the chance to collect a maximum of three bags each on Saturday in Ashby Road.

A council spokesman said it was to thank residents for putting garden waste and cardboard in brown bins, which are collected for compost.

Residents who want compost should bring their own sturdy bags and a shovel.
