Girl dies after collapsing at Kettering school

A 12-year-old girl has died after collapsing at a school in Northamptonshire, police have said.

Officers were called to the Kettering Science Academy on Deeble Road, in Kettering, on Friday afternoon where the girl had collapsed.

She was taken to Kettering General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said there would be further inquiries into the cause of the girl's death but it was not being treated as suspicious.

The school has organised counselling sessions for any children who may need it.
