Man is racially assaulted in town

A 41-year-old man has been racially abused and assaulted in a town in Northamptonshire.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the racially aggravated assault in Kettering Road, Northampton.

The man was crossing the road on 10 November when a man in a Ford Mondeo shouted racial abuse at him and then got out of his car and assaulted him.

A further three men in a flat-bed lorry jumped out of their vehicle and joined in the verbal racial abuse.

The assault saw the man "pushed in the chest area", said police.

The incident took place at about 1630 GMT close to the junction of Derby Road.

Both vehicles then drove off in the direction of the town centre.

The four offenders are all described as white. Three of the men are described between 25 and 30.

One of these was about 6ft tall, and of stocky build while one was of medium build. The fourth man was described as aged about 20 and of a slim build.

The details of the attack have only just been released by Northamptonshire Police.

Officers appealed for information.
