Illegal farmland rave closes road

A road in Northamptonshire was closed following an illegal rave on farmland.

Police were called in the early hours of Sunday to a barn on farmland off the Bugbrooke Road between Kislingbury and Bugbrooke near Northampton.

Police said due to the "large number of people" and cars officers monitored and contained the rave. The road was later closed for cleaning up to take place.

A man from Essex was arrested for drugs offences and complaints of criminal damage are being investigated.

Two men and a woman were taken to Northampton General Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said noise complaints were at a minimum because of the rave's rural location.

However a "quantity" of alcohol was left in and about the barn and road, and contractors had to be called in to clear it up.

Bugbrooke Road was closed for the site to be cleared and cleaned.
