Flats cleared during bakery fire

Homes were evacuated after a fire broke out in a bakery below a block of flats in Northamptonshire.

Two fire crews were called to Oliver Adams in Kingsley Park Terrace, Northampton, on Tuesday evening.

The fire service believes the blaze was started by smouldering embers on oven gloves.

Aprons, tea towels and oven gloves were destroyed and shelves and wall fittings moderately damaged, a spokesman for the fire service said.
