Adrian Lee secured the job three months ago
The new chief constable of Northamptonshire Police has begun working for the force.
Adrian Lee, who was selected in July, joined Northamptonshire from Staffordshire where he was temporary chief constable.
He takes over from Peter Maddison, who has taken up a position with the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Mr Lee is joined by a new assistant chief constable, Martin Jelley, who has moved from Suffolk Police.
His predecessor Alan Featherstone retired last month.
Mr Lee joined Greater Manchester Police as a graduate entrant in 1985 and was later commander for South Manchester Division.
He is a graduate of the Gregorian University in Rome and Manchester University.
