Woman denies cruelty to 99 dogs

A woman has denied cruelty charges after 99 St Bernard dogs were found abandoned in Northamptonshire kennels.

Mary Ellen Collis, 50, is charged with causing unnecessary suffering to 85 dogs and failing to meet the welfare needs of 14 others.

Mrs Collis, formerly of Wardana Kennels in Brigstock, appeared before Corby magistrates.

The case was adjourned until 17 August. The RSPCA investigated after the dogs were found last December.
