Woman fights off male attackers

A 26-year-old woman has fought off two men who attacked her as she walked along a Northamptonshire street.

The woman was walking home along the edge of the Tesco car park in New Street, Daventry, early on Saturday.

A man pushed her in the chest to stop her walking and the victim then punched the man, knocking him to the ground.

Seconds later another man grabbed her by the throat and she escaped but was punched in the face. Police said they believed the attacks were linked.

Silver chain

The first offender is described as white, in his early 20s, 5ft 11in (1.8m), with a stocky build and short dark hair.

He was wearing a white top, jeans and trainers and had a silver chain on his right wrist.

A police spokesman said he may have bruising or other injuries as a result of being punched.

The second man is described as white, in his early 20s, 6ft (1.8m) tall, with a medium build and short light brown hair.

He was also wearing a light top, jeans and trainers.
