Bunting out for big British lunch

People in Daventry, Northamptonshire, are among those involved in a national event encouraging people to get to know their neighbours better.

The Big Lunch is aimed at getting millions of people to share food, drink and conversation, and in many cases raise money for charity.

Daventry Community Allotment Garden in Welton Road urged people to take some food along and join in the event.

The district council's countryside rangers will help prepare the lunch.

Organisers hope to see the largest number of street parties since the Silver Jubilee in 1977.
