Woman held over rape allegation

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice after a man was accused of rape in Northamptonshire.

After the allegation in Daventry on 23 April, a 26-year-old man was arrested before being released without charge when the claim was withdrawn.

A woman was arrested in the Somerset area earlier this week and interviewed by police.

She has been released on police bail while investigations continue.
