Man in court over attempted rape

A man is due to appear before magistrates charged with the attempted rape of a 37-year-old woman in a park in Northamptonshire.

A woman told police she was attacked in Abington Park in Northampton on Tuesday evening.

Northamptonshire Police said they had charged a 33-year-old man in relation to the offence but released no further details about the defendant.

A police spokesman said he would appear before Northampton Magistrates' Court.
