Hospital's open day for residents

A hospital is throwing open its doors to Northamptonshire residents at an open day next weekend.

Northampton General Hospital is holding its annual meeting on Saturday and will reveal its achievements over the past 12 months.

Then the hospital will hold an open day from 1200 BST with guided tours around the site.

Visitors can see operating theatres, the pharmacy and pathology, radiology and physiotherapy departments.

"Visitors can also have a basic health check, find out how to take blood, test the hospital's latest gym equipment, go 'through the keyhole' with surgery and lots more," a spokesman said.
