Man bailed in rape investigation

A man has been released on bail after being questioned by police investigating the rape of a woman in Northamptonshire last week.

Part of Daventry town centre was cordoned off while police examined the scene after the incident which happened late on 23 April.

The allegation was made to police by a 24-year-old woman.

Police said a 26-year-old man who was arrested had been released pending further inquiries.
