Job offer for man in YouTube bid

A 61-year-old man from Northamptonshire has received job offers from as far afield as America after advertising himself on YouTube.

Ernest Hartley, a former RAF catering manager, was made redundant from an engineering firm in November.

The grandfather, from Woodford Halse, posted a video on the website saying he was looking for a job if anyone wanted to get in touch.

He has received two offers of work, including one from a US catering firm.

Mr Hartley, who is now speaking to the other company, said: "I don't want to live in America and I think it's a bit far to commute. But I think you have to be innovative at this stage of the game.

"Mentally I don't feel any different than when I was 25. I still have very much to offer."
