Council meetings webcast delayed

Plans to broadcast county council meetings in Northamptonshire on the internet on Tuesday have been delayed.

Northamptonshire County Council announced the broadcast last week as part of proposals to make meetings more accessible to people.

But the council now says technical problems have delayed the scheme.

A council spokeswoman said continuing bad weather could also see the council cabinet meeting postponed, but a final decision will be made on Tuesday.

The council is testing a scheme which will see key meetings aired via a webcast.

A decision on when meetings will start to be broadcast will be made later.
