Children have say on play areas

Children in Northamptonshire are to have a say on how more than 1m of government money for play areas will be spentin the county.

The funding for 19 play areas has gone to Northamptonshire County Council as part of the Playbuilder scheme.

The play areas will be for children aged between eight and 13.

To reflect this, children in this age range will be asked to share their ideas on the play areas and where they should be located.

Joan Kirkbride, council cabinet member for children and young people, said:"This is great news for children and young people in the county as this funding is aimed at engaging them in designing local play developments."
