Search uncovers cannabis factory

A cannabis factory with about 600 plants was uncovered when police searched a house in Northamptonshire.

Officers carried out the search of the three-storey property in Gallfield Court in Bellinge, near Northampton, on Thursday afternoon.

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said an electricity company had been concerned about interference with the mains electricity supply.

She said it was thought the cannabis had a potential value of £200,000.

No-one was in the house at the time. The spokesman said officers were working to track down the tenants.
