Woman in court on murder charges

A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Lithuanian man killed in his Northampton home by a single stab wound to the chest.

Gintaras Pupeliene, 34, was found at his home on Alcombe Road, on Wednesday.

Daiva Pupeliene, 36, of the same address in Alcombe Road, and believed to be the victim's wife, appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court.

The mother-of-four first appeared in court on Saturday but she needed an interpreter so the case was adjourned.

No application for bail was made and Mrs Pupeliene was remanded into custody until a preliminary hearing at Northampton Crown Court in January.
