Two charged with attempted murder

Two teenagers have been charged with the attempted murder of a 65-year-old man in Northamptonshire.

The victim was attacked in Higham Ferrers on Thursday and is in a critical but stable condition in hospital in Oxford.

A 17-year-old youth and 19-year-old man from the Rushden area are due before Wellingborough magistrates later.

Another 17-year-old youth has been charged with a public order offence and a boy, 16, has been released on bail.

Two more teenagers, aged 16 and 17, remain in custody in connection with the attack.
