The hospital has already cut its infection rates by half

A hospital in Northamptonshire has reopened all wards to admissions after a suspected outbreak of the Norovirus sickness bug.

Kettering General Hospital is keeping visiting restriction in place until Monday as a precaution.

Five wards have been affected since last Sunday with 40 patients and 30 staff showing symptoms.

Five cases of Norovirus have been confirmed but the trust hopes to return to business as usual next week.

A spokesman said: "Visitors should not to come to hospital if they have diarrhoea and vomiting symptoms, or indeed if they are unwell in any way.

"Anyone with these symptoms should visit their GP and not go to the hospital's A&E department because it is thought Norovirus is still prevalent in communities across the East Midlands.
