Bicycle rider assaults car driver

A mountain bike rider has attacked a driver who went to help him at the side of the road in Northamptonshire.

The cyclist appeared to be distressed by the side of the road at Bozenham Mill Lane between Grafton Regis and Ashton at about 0120 BST on Saturday.

An 18-year-old male car driver stopped to help, but the cyclist became angry and punched the driver, leaving him with minor injuries.

Police believe the cyclist is a local man, aged about 35, white and 6ft tall.

He was of medium build, with shoulder-length unkempt hair and a few days' growth of stubble on his face.

He was riding a blue mountain bike.
