Celebrations for the opening of a new railway station in Northamptonshire are to be delayed because the main operator cannot get delivery of rolling stock.
Corby's new passenger train service is already subject to delays although the builders are on schedule.
East Midlands Trains has admitted it has not managed to get new engines and carriages in time for the opening.
Corby, England's largest town without a railway station, was expecting the first trains to start on 14 December.
Elizabeth Jordan, from the passenger pressure group Rail Future, said East Midlands Trains have let the town and its people down.
