Electric blanket blamed for fire

A fire in a house where an elderly woman's body was found was started by an electric blanket, a fire and rescue service investigation has revealed.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at the property in Tiffield Road at Gayton, near Blisworth, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Fire service investigators at the scene in the village said the subsequent blaze severely damaged the property.

They are no longer treating the cause of fire as suspicious.
