A hospital in Northamptonshire is holding a pregnancy and baby care road show to help parents-to-be to prepare for their big day.

Staff at Kettering General Hospital will offer a wide range of advice at Wednesday's event.

Visitors can learn about midwifery as a career, the special care baby unit and the Childminders' Association.

Organiser Julie Beasley, a community midwife, said she hoped the free event would be well received by parents.

"The road show offers new and updated information, all in one place, about every aspect of having and caring for a baby and young child," she said.

"People will be able to find out about everything from water births, aqua-natal exercise classes and baby massage to breast feeding and a bra-fitting service.

"Other areas covered include first aid, nursery equipment, essential baby equipment and real nappies."

The event is led by the health trust's community midwives and information will also be available from family centre staff, health visitors and dental care representatives.
