Four held in bin store body probe

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was discovered in a bin storage area at a block of flats in Northampton.

The body of Ritvars Kozans, 22, a Latvian electrician working in Britain, was found at the Pinnacle flats in Woolmonger Street on Friday morning.

Post-mortem tests found he had suffered a bleed to the brain which was unlikely to have been caused naturally.

Two local men, aged 40 and 20, and two women aged 19, are in police custody.

'Hard-working man'

Mr Kozans was known to have visited pubs and clubs in the town on Thursday night prior to his body being found at 0940 BST the following morning.

Northamptonshire Police have appealed to anyone who visited the Pinnacle flats, between midnight on Thursday and 0930 BST on Friday, to contact them.

Detective Chief Inspector Jan Meagher, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "We know Ritvars was a hard-working, sociable young man.

"He was out and about in Northampton on Thursday evening and into the early hours of Friday and I need to speak to anyone who knows where he was, who was with him or who saw him."
