M1 blocked after lager spillage

Drivers are facing long delays on the M1 in Northamptonshire after a lorry carrying cans of extra strong lager overturned on the road.

The driver was unhurt but the cans and half of the lorry have blocked all three lanes of the motorway near junction 18.

There were several miles of tailbacks reported approaching the junction following the rush-hour collision.

Drivers were urged to approach junction 18 in both directions with caution.
