The mounted unit will work alongside local officers
Mounted police are due to ride along the streets of Northampton as part of an Easter crackdown on alcohol-related violence and disorder.

Earlier this month, Northamptonshire police said the mounted unit would be drafted in from the Nottinghamshire force to work alongside local officers.

Patrols will be working in the town between 2000 GMT and 0300 GMT.

The force said the aim of the patrols is to provide extra public reassurance and reduce town centre violence.
