Cosmetic firm plans 180 job cuts
The cosmetics company Avon has announced plans to cut 180 jobs at its site in Corby in Northamptonshire.

Most of the posts are set to be moved to India to save money and "secure the firm's long-term future", said Avon.

More than 800 people work at the Earlstree Road plant. Avon has had a factory in Corby for 30 years.

Avon said it was consulting with employees and their representatives about the plans. It thanked its staff for their hard work and commitment.
