More than 100 exotic creatures, including a bearded dragon, have been stolen from a pet shop in Northants.

The theft took place at Bruno's Pet Stores in Whilton Locks, between Northampton and Daventry, in the early hours of the morning.

The thieves took lizards, tortoises, snakes and chinchillas, as well as an 18-month-old bearded dragon - a type of lizard - which is a family pet.

The shop owners say the creatures will die without specialist care.

Northamptonshire Police believe the thieves had specialist knowledge about exotic animals and deliberately targeted the creatures in the shop.
