Driver killed in crash with tree

A man has died after his car left the road in Northamptonshire and crashed into a tree.

The accident happened as the 23-year-old man was driving along the A427 between Lower Benefield and Oundle just after midnight.

Northamptonshire Police said the man was driving a white Peugeot 306 and no other vehicles were thought to have been involved in the incident.

They appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact police.
