Woman raped in town park attack
A man who raped a woman as she walked along a footpath is being hunted by police in Northampton.

Police said the 20-year-old woman was on a footpath that leads on to Northampton Racecourse on Wednesday night when she felt a man touch her.

He forced her on to the Racecourse where he raped her, police added.

The man was white, aged in his early 20s, about 5ft 10in and of medium build. He was wearing jeans and a dark top with the number 78 in white.

Before the attack, the woman had got off a bus at Greyfriars bus station and walked down Campbell Street to Regent Square and along Barrack Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the suspect in the area to contact officers.
