Police horses to patrol in town
Mounted police officers will be patrolling in Northampton this Bank Holiday weekend as part of targeted patrols to reduce crime and disorder.

Two horses and their police riders, from Notts Police, will be supporting local police officers on patrol in Abington Park on Sunday afternoon.

The mounted officers will later patrol the town centre in Northampton.

The patrols are part of the Nightsafe campaign to reduce alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour.

Licensing Officer Pc Dave Bryan, of Northampton Police Community Safety department, who has helped organise the horses, said: "The horses should certainly grab people's attention and make anyone who is intent on behaving anti-socially think twice."
