End of the road for youth hostel
Badby Youth Hostel
Badby Youth Hostel has been operating for 50 years
Northamptonshire's only youth hostel is to close this summer.

Deals have been agreed to turn the 17th Century thatched-roof cottage in Badby into ordinary homes.

The Youth Hostels Association said after 50 years it was not getting enough visitors through the doors to justify keeping it open.

Two buyers have plans to turn the large cottage into ordinary private homes once it finally closes at the end of the summer season.

The cottage on the church green in the village near Daventry is the only thatched youth hostel in England and Wales.
