Armed robbers target restaurant
Armed robbers have escaped with cash after threatening staff at a Little Chef restaurant.

The manager and staff were closing for the night when two men, both wearing helmets, entered the cafe in Towcester, Northants, on Tuesday evening.

They threatened the staff with what appeared to be handguns and forced them into a room before making off with a quantity of cash.

There were no customers in the restaurant at the time.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: "We have no descriptions of the two offenders except that the helmets appeared to be quite old, and that they were also wearing jeans and puffa jackets."

A customer left the restaurant shortly before the incident, and police believe that this person may have seen something suspicious in the car park before they left.

An appeal has been made for this person to come forward.
