Old cinema reopens for community
A building, which has served as a cinema, a church and a warehouse, is due to be reopened on Wednesday as a new community centre for Northants.

The former Plaza Cinema, Thrapston, was bought by East Northants District Council some years ago and was used for stage and drama productions.

With the opening of the new Nene Leisure Centre the council had agreed to sell it off.

But the sale has fallen through and the centre will return to community use.

The council has agreed a lease with the town council which has refurbished the building.

It will be reopened in a special ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
